To commemorate the 100 year anniversary of World War 1, the British Army worked alongside an initiative called 1914 Sikhs to highlight the sacrifices made by Sikh soldiers on the frontlines of the Great War.
In so, the 1914 Sikhs project, with assistance from the British Army's 237 Supply Squadron 159 Royal Logistic Corps, was tasked with recruiting and training volunteers into a heritage platoon, to be the first Sikh platoon to parade at the British Army's HQ at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
