SafePlug Energy receptacles add remote energy monitoring and control to these safety features, for energy savings, home automation, and security. The SafePlug Energy system uses RightPlug Alliance data-tags in appliance plugs to track appliance energy consumption automatically, even if appliances are moved to different receptacles. The SafePlug Energy system can turn appliances on/off via a schedule to avoid excess billing due to escalated Time Of Use (TOU) rates or by remote control (ZigBee wireless radio)
