My purpose is to help people learn and grow, especially as it involves their health and well-being. I love talking, writing about, and teaching people how to improve their health. I equally love my health coaching because I can help people overcome what is holding them back to move forward toward adopting healthy behaviors. In my years as a health coach I have been honored to work with people who have gone from being unable to talk about healthy eating because food was such an emotional, painful issue for them, to having very realistic thinking about their behaviors and thus becoming free to make healthier choices. Nutrition became an area to study because I realized how powerful it was to make a difference in people’s bodily health. But, I couldn’t ignore the mind and the spirit and so, while not an expert, I like to bring those into my conversations as well. My preparation to be of service as a nutritionist and health coach has included my own health struggles (school of life) as well as degrees in Biology, a Master’s in Public Health, and a Master’s degree in Nutrition. I was trained in health coaching techniques and eventually obtained my Certified Well Coach designation in 2016. It has been my privilege to work with clients of all ages and all over the country to be a part of their journey to true health.
How can you have healthy, productive employees, patients, friends, or family? Why don’t people do what they should for their health? People are complicated and each one is unique, but there are psychology-based strategies employed that can help any person change behaviors and habits to support health.
Along with helping people to develop a positive mindset for behavior change, clients need the right information and skills to implement lifestyle changes. As a Certified Health Coach and Certified Clinical Nutritionist, it is my job to motivate, inspire, educate and guide your employees or patients to be empowered to improve their health.
