About Travel Inc was in operation from May 2008 to January 2010. The company first introduced a low cost Online Travel Agency model that charged hotels only 10% per booking. It was the first online travel agency to offer paid placements in the search results, which was later adopted by major incumbents like Expedia.
Later the company changed the model to be free for hotels, and introduced a pay per click model so that hotels could bid for placement in the search results of their destination. About Travel successfully signed up tens of thousands of hotels but was unable to generate enough consumer traffic to sustain the business. About Travel Inc ceased operations in January, 2010.
