ACADEMICS4GAZA (A4G) was founded in the aftermath of the bombing and destruction of the last university in the Gaza Strip (January 17th, 2024) as a humanitarian response to ensure the continuity of the learning process for Palestinian students in the area, and as a beacon of hope amidst devastation the aftermath of the destruction. The organisation relies on dozens of volunteers, academics from around the world, who help students continue their studies through targeted tutoring.
Our main objectives include:
Emergency Educational Assistance: Providing immediate access to educational opportunities for children and youth affected by humanitarian crises.
Psychological and Social Support: Offering psychosocial support to help students overcome trauma and stress caused by emergencies.
Development and Distribution of Educational Materials: Creating and distributing culturally appropriate educational materials.
Teacher Training: Organising training courses for teachers and educational staff to effectively respond to educational needs during emergencies.
Promotion of Inclusion and Equality: Ensuring that emergency education is inclusive and accessible to all, with particular attention to vulnerable groups.
