ACI's interventional Cath lab features an industry-leading General Electric Innova Angiography system with an all-digital flat detector technology which can;
-Perform angiograms on any part of the body.
-Digitize X-Ray images immediately on image capture allowing for the best possible quality image at the lowest radiation dose.
Digital Subtraction Angiograms which;
-Provides doctors and specialists with the best view of blood vessels.
-Produces three dimensional angiogram whereby the X-ray images can be taken while the detector is rotating so that blood vessels can be seen from various angles while it is being filled with dye.
ACI also carries the largest stock of catheters, balloons and stents including several brands of the most advanced and clinically proven drug eluting stents which have revolutionized the treatment of heart disease.
ACI understands the importance of providing patients with heart care when they need it the most and so had established a dedicated Coronary Unit (CCU) in conjunction with West Shore Private Medical Hospital. The CCU, often called the "Heart Attack Center of Trinidad and Tobago" is specifically geared towards caring for patients with cardiac and other cardiovascular complaints - including heart attacks.
The unit is staffed with internationally trained specialist cardiac nurses and the leading cardiologists in Trinidad & Tobago.
