台灣區電腦輔助成型技術交流協會的前身，是國立清華大學CAE研究室全球資訊網社群， 目前已有一萬多名的網路會員，為了提供會員更完整、更專業的服務， 並朝向國際化的目標發展，因此成立了此協會。本協會期許成為國際上專業的電腦輔助成型技術與資訊交流的社群。
