Since 1999 Acom S.p.a. has carried out Research and Development into new
Radiopharmaceuticals compound used in PET scans and started its production activity in 2004, under the scientific direction of Dr. Gianluca Valentini.
Acom has obtained the AIFA (Italian Medicine Agency) Authorization for production of 18F-FDG in GMP, that Acom distributes to about 20 healthcare organizations.
Furthermore Acom has developed an innovative system (compact solid target irradiation) to product new radiopharmaceuticals with Radioisotopes 64Cu and 124I.
At present Acom is the only company in Europe to have the authorization to produce in GMP for clinical trial the following radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals 64Cu,124I,18F-FCH,124IβCit for clinical trials.
Acom Group R&S has also developed new microfluidic technology for radiopharmaceuticals synthesis and new machine for therapy such as Boron therapy and Proton Therapy.
