In an era where mission demands require advancing and extending the life of current fleets, the longevity and sustainment of Department of Defense assets is increasingly critical. The Department faces significant challenges to maintain ready assets, most notably a combination of “supply support” bottlenecks with diminishing or obsolete sources, and spending 70% of a weapon system's total cost on "sustainment" costs. In partnership with Wichita State University's National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR), Astra Sky’s mission is to upend this costly, unsustainable system by offering an integrated network of capabilities and sustainment solutions to repair or replace parts on ground, air and space assets by interconnecting a domestic supply chain of engineering, manufacturing and proven testing and certification.
