A E Faulks Ltd is an independent construction plant hire and earthworks company operating in the Central and East Midlands.
Our founder Ted (Albert Edward) Faulks began operating as a one man enterprise in 1973 and expanded as a partnership with his sons over the following 20 years. In 1993 Terry Faulks (Ted’s son) and Paul Frost (Ted’s son in law) incorporated the company as A E Faulks Ltd. The business successfully expanded and developed purpose built offices and workshops at Hickling near Melton Mowbray in 1997. By 2006 the company had developed into five distinct operating divisions consisting of; plant hire (operated and self drive); road sweeper hire; lorry tipper hire; skip hire and recycling and contracting (earthworks, demolition and site clearance).
In 2011 our commitment to continually improving the ‘safety culture’ within the organisation was formal recognized by BSi with registration of our health and safety management system to the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard, which is based on the methodology known as Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA). We have successfully achieved re-certification in 2014 and 2017.
In April 2018 the difficult decision was made to close the skip hire and recycling division to enable the company to concentrate on the investment and expansion of its other divisions.
As part of the Company’s ongoing continual improvement program, by December 2018 we are going for approval as a FORS bronze operator, designed to improve safety, efficiency and environmental protection in relation to our HGV road fleet activities.
With firm foundations as a family business we offer a first class service through market leading manufacturers equipment (including the latest safety features) experienced and competent operators backed up with professional advice from our office staff. We work with local authorities, major contractors, national building companies, local builders/landscapers and the general public throughout the Central and East Midlands.
