AFAIR is an eight-year research program that focuses on applied AI for industrial organizations. By combining expertise in flows, organization, and leadership with data science, academia and companies build new knowledge about the challenges and opportunities that AI brings in close collaboration. We have several parallel research projects and educational initiatives.
Esteemed researchers at the School of Engineering and Jönköping International Business School at Jönköping University are driving the program together with leading industrial companies in their respective industries. Since its inception in 2021, more companies and researchers have joined, and our goal is long-term collaborations for a strong research and educational environment that will continue beyond 2028. The Swedish knowledge foundation finances the initiative through the research environment SPARK at the School of Engineering at Jönköping University. The program contributes to attractive education at the university, management of the industry’s concrete challenges, and learning in the workplace for the participating companies. Through traditional scientific publications together with more public contributions, we spread knowledge to more people.
