The Mission of Afiya is to explore and tackle the multifaceted barriers and issues that Black individuals face within BC's Healthcare system. We are dedicated to accomplishing this by engaging in community-based participatory action endeavours that centre on diverse health disparities and inequities of the BAC communities. We are particularly interested in addressing issues related to systemic racism, medical racism, deficiencies in quality care, and the disproportionate occurrence of adverse health outcomes.
