The African Youth Security Network was started by two Ghanaian youths with an academic and personal interest in security.
There was a noticeable gap in security discourse where the youth perspective was often overlooked, with policy and opinions being imposed rather than included. We hope to build a community of young security academics and professionals within the African continent. This also aims to be a space where young people share their own security pieces as well as learn from one another.
