Afruca - Safeguarding Children company information, Employees & Contact Information

AFRUCA Safeguarding Children (AFRUCA) was established in May 2001 to advocate for the wellbeing and protection of children in Black communities across the UK from abuse, trafficking, modern slavery and exploitation. It was established following the deaths of some newly arrived children. It became a company limited by guarantee in October 2001 and a registered charity in July 2002. In 2020, AFRUCA expanded the scope of its work to cover children, young people and families in Black and other ethnic communities across the UK. The main focus of our work is prevention and early intervention. We work in five key themes: provision of support for children and their families, awareness raising and community education, policy influencing and advocacy, education and training for agencies as well as community development programmes. AFRUCA is a UK charity and we are based in London (Hackney) and Manchester (Ardwick). We deliver a range of programmes, services and projects to support children, young people, families and communities to further our aims and objectives.
