Age-Friendly DC is an initiative of the DC Government to coordinate observations of residents with equitable actions by DC agencies and community organizations to make the District an easier place to live, work, and play, as we all grow older. The District of Columbia was recognized as a top city worldwide for Age-Friendly policy directions by the World Health Organization (WHO) and AARP.
As an interagency initiative housed in the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, Age-Friendly DC collaborates with 26 agencies across the government. This ensures that lifelong aging is considered in all citywide plans, and actions.
