The AI + Planetary Justice Alliance is a global, grassroots collective of researchers, activists, artists, and practitioners dedicated to exposing and addressing the socio-environmental injustices embedded in artificial intelligence (AI) systems.
Our research follows the stages of the AI supply chain, each representing a distinct area of inquiry: Raw Material Extraction, Materials Manufacturing, Equipment Manufacturing, Model Training, Model Deployment, Disposal/End-of-life.
Our mission is to co-create knowledge, foster accountability, and advocate for transformative approaches to AI governance. Guided by principles of solidarity, reciprocity, and transparency, the Alliance envisions an equitable future where AI serves people, communities, and ecosystems without perpetuating harm.
