Supports research, development, test, and evaluation of the Navy’s flight and ground test support activity for all Point Mugu sited naval aviation systems controlled aircraft and aircraft functions engaged in research, development, test, and engineering of weapons and weapons systems support activities utilizing the Point Mugu Sea Range and China Lake Land Range test and evaluation complexes, and to perform other such functions and tasks as may be assigned by higher authority.
•Provides aircraft and pilot/naval flight officer assets, maintenance services, safety oversight, and facility support.
•Provides technical expertise for the conduct of flight test. Primary efforts include the conduct of flying qualities and performance, software, structural, propulsion, simulator, weapon separation, and shipboard suitability testing.
•Provides Government Flight Representative services, test monitoring, chase aircraft support, and facilities management for contractor demonstration, validation, and development work of rotor aircraft and associated systems.
