Vom Kleinbetrieb zum leistungsfähigen internationalen Anbieter Gegründet im Jahre 1957 von Herrn Alexander Schmiemann, nahm die airo-chemie A. Schmiemann GmbH in Leverkusen Opladen anfänglich die Produktion von chemisch-technischen Produkten für den Bereich der Autoreparatur und Karosserieinstandsetzung auf, welche bis heute durch zahlreiche spezielle Anwendungsbereiche ergänzt wurde. Bereits 10 Jahre später wuchs der Markt für airo Produkte dank ihrer Qualität in einem Maße an, dass die bestehenden Produktionskapazitäten der wachsenden Nachfrage nicht mehr gerecht wurden. So wurde im rheinischen Langenfeld ein neuer Standort mit modernsten Produktionsanlagen errichtet, der bis zum heutigen Tage Stammsitz des Unternehmens ist.
