AISTS was founded in 2000 by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), IMD Business School, the University of Lausanne, the University of Geneva, Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), the City of Lausanne and the Canton of Vaud.
