Under the patronage of HRH The Regent of Pahang Crown Prince Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, Perbadanan Taman Negeri Pahang (PTNP) has enlisted Enggang Management Services to oversee reserve operations. Expert partners from BORA, Nature-Based Solutions, Panthera, and The Habitat Foundation bring specialized skills in prey augmentation, protected area management, enforcement, and community engagement to ensure effective implementation. This project marks the first time that a protected area in Peninsular Malaysia is managed through a private-public partnership .
Situated adjacent to Taman Negara National Park in the Greater Taman Negara Forest Complex, the 92,649.33-hectare reserve, which will be further expanded to 134,183 hectares in the near future, significantly expands the core tiger habitat in one of Malaysia's largest and most important tiger landscapes.
The funding will support targeted interventions to stabilize and ultimately increase the wild Malayan tiger population in the landscape, primarily through reducing death rates through stopping poaching, and increasing birth rates through boosting prey availability.
