ALFA Rescue, Inc. (A Love For Animals Rescue, Inc.), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue focused on rescuing the stray, abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs and cats in Northeast Arkansas. We lovingly and cheerfully rehabilitate the unwanted strays and abandoned pets in Jonesboro and surrounding areas. Our mission is to give these animals love, security and stability as we actively socialize them to prepare them for their new and loving fur-ever home.
Our vision is to train and rehabilitate discarded pets and successfully match them up to permanent homes where they will live a life to their greatest potential. We lovingly care for and rehabilitate pets to prepare them for successful adoptions. Basic training, socialization strategies, and collaborative veterinary medical care complement the rescue of each animal we work with to re-home. Prospective families will work closely with us to determine the right temperament, size, and energy level for their newest 4 legged family member.
Too many animals in our area suffer from basic malnutrition, lack of adequate medical care, and epidemic heartworm infestations. We have seen our share of sick, hungry, and diseased dogs and cats that are victims of neglect, domestic violence, and apathy. Our commitment is to provide a real, timely and compassionate solution to as many animals that are suffering as possible.
The teams at ALFA Rescue, Inc. accept these animals into the shelter to help them regain their health, both physical and mental, and match them to a the perfect family who sees the love and potential waiting in their new fur-baby.
Because ALFA Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit organization, our adoption fees are structured to help offset some of the costs associated with each animal. When you welcome an ALFA rescue into your home, you will have an animal that has been medically reviewed, vaccinated on basic shots, spayed or neutered, and has undergone significant training and/or socialization strategies to provide you with the most successful match possible. Prospective families will complete an Adoption Application, meet with one of our Adoption Specialists, and discuss their desired traits in terms of energy level, size, and temperament. From there, potential candidates are reviewed and if a match is found, ALFA will arrange a home visit with you and consult with your regular veterinarian. Then the best part happens: you get to bring your new friend home! If the pet is happy, then we are happy. After a two week trial period, with the approval of all involved (especially the pet) the adoption can be finalized.
