The Alliance Gastronomique was founded in 1967 by nineteen Dutch restorers in response to the then growing taste obsolescence, a lack of professional training and a lack of culinary quality products. An innovative and unprecedented initiative for the Netherlands. After all, the Netherlands was not known for its high-quality eating culture. The fact that the collaboration was a success had everything to do with the innovative vision, faith and perseverance of the initiators. The Alliance Gastronomique has now been in existence for over 50 years, making it the longest existing culinary partnership in Europe with 38 affiliated restaurants in the Netherlands and Belgium.
