About NIT Mizoram Alumni Association: Enhancing the growth of NIT Mizoram Alumni, to support a
network of former graduates who will in turn, help to raise the profile of the university, helps in
nation building growth. NITMZ has made a commitment in bringing together the alumni community
on a common platform to build another channel of professional and personal support to members
through self-help within community. NIT Mizoram had its inception in 2007, since then it has been
doing great efforts in connecting the remote northern eastern education with the mainland. Apart
from the thought of serving as a base of information about the Alumni, it initiates programs and
organizes events related to Alumni, Alma Mater (former college) and in nation interest. Main
initiatives of NITMZ – To serve the societal needs of the country in particular and the world in
general though achieving excellence in innovative scientific and technical education and cutting edge
research. This is possible by promoting the relation between alumni and the present students of
NITMZ. - To encourage the Alumni to take an active and abiding interest in the work and progress of
the institute so as to contribute towards the enhancement of the social utility of their Alma Mater.
But unlike sororities, fraternities, and other student organizations, alumni programs are open to all
graduates and offer a broader networking scope. Alumni Committee maintains a database of alumni,
enabling them to reconnect with their friends. To provide guest lectures and employment
opportunities for the present students through Alumina. Alumina serve many valuable roles, such as
helping to build and grow an institutions brand through word-of-mouth marketing.
