The 'Ambition' programme has been developed for students in Year 7 and Year 8 who are at risk of disaffection. These students may (or have already) become disengaged in learning in school over time and are costly in terms of academic progress, FTE, attendance and PA .These particular students have been identified as potential NEETs and we are hoping that with early intervention we can help them to achieve their full potential. The students have the opportunity to take part in a 12 month programme which gives them opportunity to meet new people, make friends and talk to someone outside of their current circle or community. The students will take part in a range of visits and experiences to broaden their horizons, raise aspirations and prepare them for the world of work. We are hoping to inspire some of these students to want to do better at school but also to become responsible members of their community and society.
