AHS fulfills its mission and vision by, among other things:
- hosting periodic meetings for open presentation and discussion of scientific material concerning subjects of common interest,
- cooperating in educational endeavors with groups of similar interest throughout the world,
- initiating and cooperating in the publication of a journal and/or newsletter on the subject or hernia/abdominal wall abnormalities, and
- undertaking projects of scientific interest to seek information and otherwise serve the mission of the organization.
