"Anacalypsis" is the Greek word for Discovery. Our vision is a world in which neurodegenerative diseases are controllable, treatable, and curable. In most neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's Disease, there are no disease-modifying therapies that can disrupt the progression of the disease. This is compounded by the fact that by the time diagnosis is made, significant irreversible neurodegeneration has already occurred. Parkinson’s disease is the fastest growing neurological disease, currently affecting approximately 10 million people globally. Similar to our approach for Parkinson's Disease, we are working on solving the unique challenges faced by people suffering from neurodegeneration by concurrently developing gene-based therapeutics and biomarkers. Our approach to therapeutic development is the structure-based design of compounds that disrupt specific protein interactions and signaling pathways that are linked to neurodegeneration.
