The Angel Band Project is a national nonprofit whose mission is to use the power of music to promote healing, raise awareness, and provide positive social change for survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence. We sponsor music therapy programs for those who are in counseling for the trauma associated with sexual and/or domestic violence. We hold live concerts to bring awareness to the public about this issue, which is so often shrouded in silence. We also have created the One Voice Virtual Choir, which brings together survivors in song through technology to create unity and solidarity. With 1 in every 5 women being the victim of a sexual assault in her lifetime in the U.S., the need to break the silence and support survivors is great.
