ASA is led by a national Management Committee, comprising school principals, educational administrators and school chaplains. All states and the ACT are represented on the Committee.
A president, president-elect and chief executive officer ensure continuity of leadership on the committee. The term of office for a president is two years. The president-elect is nominated from within the Management Committee. The term of office for members of the Management Committee is two years with one extension of two years. The Management Committee meets four times per year.
