Aparto Bistro & Cafe is located in the most beautiful part of the coastal zone of the city overlooking the castle and the port. Its name was taken from the time when the city of Kavala and the wider region flourished with its tobacco industry and became world famous. A name with history and symbolism that was associated with the women's liberation movements of the time. The lovely decoration, combined with appropriate music and a stunning view, creates an environment that encourages human contact and relaxation. a comfortable place to read a book, meet with friends, or have an appointment.
Description of Services-Products
Aparto provides everything you can find in a classic bistro of the Central European cities. A warm and romantic setting where one can enjoy coffee, dessert, a wide variety of aromatic teas in winter or cool drinks and cocktails in summer, drinks or wine from a list of about 30 labels, mostly from wineries in the surrounding area, from early morning until late evening. Our kitchen, which opens early in the morning, serves breakfast as well as hot and cold dishes all day long.
The history behind our name:
The Turmac tobacco industry was created in Kavala, in the 1910's decade by an Ottoman tycoon named Kiazim Emin Bey. Between 1925-1940 the company was one of the leading ones in the world. He flourished in the city, which is placed in the heart of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace, a region that was producing the best quality tobacco in the world (Basmas). Apart from the combination of Eastern and Nouveau art, the promotion of Turmac was based on another ''myth'' too: the one of women's liberation. Before World War I female smoking was associated with low standards of morals.
