While AFCI is a startup as a corporation, its Founder and President, Alex F. Cejas, has been designing, manufacturing, and selling body armor for more than 20 years. AFCI designs the armor systems, engineers the ballistic protection panels to various threat levels dictated by the National Institute of Justice, the US Military, and international specifications, and AFCI markets and sells its products through formal supply agreements signed with manufacturers and distributors of armor outer shells who choose not to make their own armor panels. The company plans to build its partnerships with a manufacturer and distribution network by developing brand awareness and superior ballistic performance at competitive prices. AFCI intends to market its line as an alternative to existing bullet-resistant product lines, and differentiate itself by marketing strategies, high performance and quality, and high brand awareness.
