The APS GEO-Schnabel Joint Venture was formed under the Small Business Administration’s Mentor-Protégé program to offer our firms’ complementary capabilities for transportation, power and energy, and federal projects. SBA’s Mentor-Protégé program provides an opportunity for a small business to be assisted by a well-established, successful large business, enhancing their capabilities and competitiveness for small business set-aside contracts. Our JV provides the advantage of contracting with a small business partnered with a large firm under a joint venture, ensuring the required capacity and technical expertise for project success. APS GEO was founded by experienced geotechnical engineers specializing in geotechnical engineering, field explorations, laboratory materials testing, and civil site development. They comprise a team of seasoned professionals with experience working with large AE and geotechnical firms, as well as design-build construction companies. Their clients include government agencies, state DOTs, railroads, utility companies, natural resource companies, contractors, and developers. Schnabel Engineering, in continuous operation since 1956, is a leading international provider of specialized services including geotechnical and geostructural engineering, dam and tunnel engineering, environmental services, geophysical and geosciences services, construction monitoring, and resident engineering. Their coordinated georelated efforts provide integrated service on all projects, from subsurface explorations and laboratory testing to engineering analysis, design, and construction support.
