Apsley Paper Trail Trust operates two former paper mill sites. At Frogmore Paper Mill where the first viable paper machine was installed in 1803, stands our museum and heritage centre with facilities to educate all ages and levels of experience by means of displays, guided tours and structured sessions. We offer curriculum linked activities to schools, adult arts courses and family events, all delivered in a working paper mill.
Operating a 1902 Fourdrinier paper machine enables to production of unique artisan papers for commercial sale, while maintaining a tradition of papermaking at the mill which started in 1774. Visitors can see paper form before their eyes.
At the Apsley Mill site, two original buildings have spaces to let to small businesses.
