The Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics (APUA), a non-profit organisation founded in 1981 by Prof. Stuart Levy, was one of the first organisations dedicated to promoting antibiotic stewardship (AMS) and curbing antibiotic resistance (AMR), taking a One Health approach.
APUA is now under the auspices of the International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ISAC)
