Archaeology 4 Schools specializes in using the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks to teach elementary students the essentials of archaeology and the work that archaeologists do. We offer an in-school Presentation, Workshop, and/or Excavation Program. The program, workshop, and excavation experience were developed in accordance with the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for History and Social Science, Grade 4 Content Standards. Topics covered include how archaeologists develop theories about ancient migrations, as well as exploring evidence of early North American populations; identifying archaeological evidence of major civilizations; how archaeologists conduct research; and examples of Native American archaeological sites in North America.
