ARIAD Asset Management GmbH is a German asset manager (founded in 2002) that develops and manages innovative quantitative strategies.
Our flagship strategy is the patent data based long-only global equity strategy with a scientific fundament and a proven track record (>5 years).
We are the first asset manager worldwide that brought a purely patent data driven funds to the market.
Just recently, this public fund was awarded as the best German funds in the category global equities (small & mid cap) for its performance in 2019 and ranking second for the performance over a 3 and 5 years period.
How does the strategy work?
We systematically and quantitatively analyze the patent portfolios of over 8000 companies worldwide, calculate quality indicators and rank each company.
Our approach aims to identify hidden champions, innovators and disruptors early since patents on new innovations are filed before they enter and penetrate the market for all to observe.
Those micro, small & mid caps are rarely (if at all) covered by analysts. Only when their successful innovations become obvious, the market starts to appreciate them.
We try to position ourselves in the companies just before this happens.
