Welcome! Aris Does Data is me, Aris Tsontzos!
I’m an entirely independent data protection trainer and consultant, writer and speaker, and I aim to bring data protection to life, delivering reasoned advice with a liberal splash of common sense whilst making the issues at hand interesting and perhaps even a bit fun.
I pride myself on a shamelessly no-nonsense approach. I don’t waffle, I don’t buy in to scaremongering and I try and be as honest as I can with my audience. No, the ICO probably isn’t going to fine you a million billion pounds if your programme isn’t totally up to scratch (if you can prove that you’ve at least tried to be open, honest and decent), but it is a great idea to be as transparent as you can be, because nice organisations who clearly care about their people attract nice supporters, clients and customers.
I’ve years of experience spanning both private and voluntary sectors, and I have bags of ‘on the ground’ experience of managing databases, formulating data governance strategies and dealing with the nitty-gritty of data protection as a data protection officer.
