ARROKABE ARCHITECTS is a studio located in Santiago de Compostela formed, since May 2006, by the brothers Óscar Andrés Quintela (Bilbao,1969/ architect ETSAUN 1994) and Iván Andrés Quintela (Bilbao,1980/ architect ETSAUN 2004). The work of the office starts from a special attention to the preexistence, material and/or cultural, it looks for to construct a language on the concrete thing and it deepens in the expressive capacity of the materials and the suitable and suitable constructive techniques. They have specialized in rehabilitation, wood architecture and energy efficiency. The work in the studio has been combined with other activities, in particular the management of offices for the rehabilitation of historical sites, the curatorship of exhibitions, coordination and teaching in the master's degree in urban regeneration and rehabilitation_USC and collaborations as teachers in the master's degree in structural wood engineering_USC. At present, they collaborate in the Casa de la Fábrica of the Fundación Catedral de Santiago in coordination and direction of restoration works of the temple.
