Artimo is a Brussel art gallery specialised in the purchase and sale of marble and bronze sculptures from the 19th and early 20th century.
Artimo warehouse is situated at 55 Rue Lebeau, 1000 Brussels, on the edge of the Sablon antiques district. The gallery is 600m from the Grande Place and 260m from the Royal Library of Belgium.
The passion for art in the Van Cauwenbergh family has been present for three generations, starting with the founder, Marcel, a Belgian post-war industrialist with a passion for fine arts. His son, Luc, was the driving force behind the expansion and internationalisation of Artimo.
Georges, son of Luc, current Director of Artimo continues the gallery’s expansion on the international scene, ensuring the continuity of this unchanged passion through the generations.
Originally, Artimo Fine Arts was located at 33 rue Lebeau, 1000 Brussels, in the Sablon district. On the 10th of March 2017, a second gallery was opened on the same street, on the number 55. This second gallery location was recognized as a listed period house and became the main business location of the company. This new location was introduced with an exhibition called “Living Marble”. It highlights 60 marble sculptures made by Belgian artists from the 1800 to 1930.
Artimo has a library with thousands of reference books with constantly updated and detailed documentation as well as a recognised certificate of authenticity for each piece of art. Due to its internationally acknowledged expertise, Artimo sits by way of example on the selection and approval committees of prestigious antiques fairs such as the Tefaf.
Artimo Fine Arts has a long history of providing galleries with sculptures for important international fairs. In 2019, the gallery began participating in major art events under its own name, exhibiting major marble and bronze sculptures from the 19th century.
