There is always the fear if you’re a PoC and you are not writing about your trauma; you are misusing your space. Ashamed is a space where PoC do not have to choose between writing about issues relating to them and their communities and things that bring them joy. We are a space where you can do both. More often than not, PoC are boxed into one way of writing. It is important to us that PoC can write freely without restrictions. he people who licence us to be heard so often are white people, and they want us to do so on their terms. This is how we are reimagining the news and media system. We want to highlight that our stories are important even when they are not trending.
