Asian Aviation Centre Profile
Asian Aviation Centre (Pvt) Limited (AAC) was registered as a private limited liability company in 1985 to operate a flying training school providing ab-initio pilot training.
In 1990, apart from flying training activities, the AAC commenced a programme of studies to train students in Aircraft Maintenance and to enable them to sit for the examination conducted by the Department of Civil Aviation of Sri Lanka (now the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka) for the issuance of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Licences.
In 1995, two distinct schools were created - The Academy of Aeronautical Engineering (today AAC Engineering Academy) and the Asian Aerospace College (today AAC Flight Academy).
The AAC Flight Academy is the premiere flying training school in Sri Lanka based at the Asian Aviation Centre complex at Colombo Airport, Ratmalana. The company operates from two premises at Ratmalana (45 minutes drive from Colombo) and Katukurunda in the south. The ground school activities and the flying training are carried out at the main complex Ratmalana.
The flying school has trained many local and a number of International students from countries such as Germany, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Malaysia, India, Switzerland, Holland, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, Korea, Iran and Maldives, up to Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating (CPL/IR) and Multi Engine Rating. It has also successfully provided Basic Flying Training for two groups of cadets from the Sri Lanka Air Force in the past.
AAC has produced many professionally qualified pilots. Many of whom are employed by the national, International airlines and other reputed flying organizations.
In parallel to the flying training school, the AAC Engineering Academy is one of the oldest and widely accepted organizations dedicated to provide both academic as well as career oriented courses of studies in Aviation Engineering in Sri Lanka. It has introduced several fields of Aeronautics,
