"Assets for Artists" is a matched savings and entrepreneurship training program for individual artists in all disciplines to help them access additional capital, grow their artistic ventures, and have the financial stability that promotes creative freedom. The program has been piloted in Berkshire County (Massachusetts) as a partnership between MASS MoCA, the Midas Collaborative, Berkshire Creative, MCLA’s Berkshire Cultural Resource Center, and the City of Pittsfield, with excellent training and advice provided by Esther Robinson at ArtHome and Keith Girouard at the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center in Pittsfield, and generous financial assistance from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Berkshire Bank, Citizens Bank, and the City of Pittsfield. Now serving the state of Massachusetts, NYC, Portland, Maine and Rhode Island. Assets for Artists exists to help more artists have the tools and space and other resources they need to create the best possible work and earn a healthy living from their art.
