AMTI defines and disseminates best practices for the clinical evaluation of survivors of persecution seeking humanitarian protection. Founded in 2021, AMTI brought together more than 80 contributors with expertise in asylum medicine and human rights law from over 40 organizations and academic centers across the U.S. to develop our Introductory Curriculum, a peer-reviewed course available to adult health, human rights, and legal professionals and trainees based on the updated Istanbul Protocol 2022. AMTI is sponsored by Cambridge Health Alliance's Center for Health Equity Education and Advocacy, HEAL Refugee Health and Asylum Collaborative, Physicians for Human Rights, Society of Asylum Medicine, and UCSF's Health and Human Rights Initiative.
