Atelier Terre is a creative studio specialised in contemporary hardstone marquetry. We create collectible design, unique interior and jewellery pieces by assembling portions of thin slices of coloured stones, updating the traditional Florentine craft of commesso in pietre dure in a contemporary aesthetic.
Our inspiration comes from the aesthetic qualities of stones: their colours, patterns, textures and volumes. Our technique combines the skills and tools of traditional hardstone marquetry with a thorough understanding of materials gained from our professional experience as conservator-restorers.
Each piece is designed and crafted individually by hand in our studio in Florence, Italy. We are accustomed with museum quality standards and guarantee lifelong care for each of our pieces.
