Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations, the world’s largest and most
diverse international organization. The purpose of these conferences is to educate
participants about the inner workings of the United Nations, and the complexity of
international cooperation and multilateral diplomacy. Delegates, as participants are
known, adopt the roles of state ambassadors or NGO (non-governmental organization)
representatives and work within their specialized committees to discuss and propose
solutions to some of the world's most pressing issues. In addition to educating delegates
about diplomacy and global concerns, Model United Nations conferences are a fantastic
opportunity for participants to develop their public speaking, research, negotiation and
written and verbal communication skills. Currently some 400 conferences take place
each year with approximately 400,000 students taking part in MUN conferences across
the world.
Athena MUN is not just an opportunity to have some fun and learn about international
affairs, it’s also excellent preparation for future leadership in law, government, business
and the arts, and so on.Additionally, it will also give you an opportunity to show the world
