Atom Builders has a current focus of improving the exteriors of buildings using an advanced Green Energy Cork-Based Thermal Coating. This performance coating has residential, commercial and industrial applications and can be applied on new construction as well as retrofitting existing structures.
We are certified applicator's of Vipeq Thermal CorkShield; a gorgeous exterior finishing product that offers both performance and protection to the existing structure. Some of the performance benefits offered are naturally associated with cork and include being Class-A fire rated, mold and mildew resistance and offering an effective thermal break (think of a cork hot plate).
This means transfer of energy (Heat loss), in or out of a building, is drastically slowed. This high-performance coating offers a Thermal Conductivity Rating (K-Value) of 0.058 - This means it effectively slows the transfer of energy prior to penetrating through your homes walls, keeping you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer!
In addition to the performance benefits offered, any structure’s visual appeal is instantly improved with over 30 vibrant colors available all with a fade rate of less than 1%, compared to traditional paint which may fade between 10%-15% annually.
