About Aviation Rescue Services

Aviation Rescue Services (ARS) provides a wide range of expert consultancy and training services for the international emergency services sector, through successful delivery of projects for Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS) globally. We specialise in the design & development, implementation, & delivery of international best practice training programs for ARFFS. Our training programs are underpinned by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Standards & Recommended Practices (SARPS), national legislative requirements, and industry best practice. We will work with you to deliver a focused and comprehensive review of your training programs and operational requirements to maximise organisational efficiency and effectiveness, ultimately enhancing operational preparedness and response capability for ARFFS and airport emergency services. ARS Managing Director Mr. Peter McMahon & ex. Airservices Australia Chief Fire Officer Mr. Glenn Wood (Ret.) have nearly 60 years combined experience in the ARFFS industry, so you can be assured that you are getting the highest level of expertise! Peter’s expertise is highly sought after and has more than 20 years’ experience in emergency service operations, as a senior ARFFS manager and training instructor and consultant to over 20 countries worldwide. Peter is also a Board Director of the ARFF Working Group (USA) & the International Aviation Fire Protection Association (IAFPA). Peter has developed a comprehensive international standard ARFFS training program & qualifications framework which is aligned to the International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) Standards & Recommended Practices and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Codes. Mr. Glenn Wood brings with him a huge wealth of experience in the ARFF industry. Glenn retired in October 2019 after 35 years of distinguished operational service including 7-years as the Chief Fire Officer of ARFF services, overseeing 26 airports and 1000 operational staff.
