Die Austrian Wound Association hat eine Mission:
Gemeinsam können wir die wissenschaftliche Forschung und den Erfahrungsaustausch der modernen Wundbehandlung fördern. Unser Ziel ist es, Wundbehandler*innen zu vernetzen und eine Plattform anzubieten, die informiert, wissenschaftliches Arbeiten unterstützt und praktisches Wissen weitergibt.

Erste Tagungen in Wien, dann in Lienz, Innsbruck, Linz, Bregenz (mit SAfW),
Im Jahr 2007 erste gemeinsame Tagung mit der SAfW (Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Wundbehandlung) in Bregenz. 2009 zweite gemeinsame Tagung mit der SAfW in der Schweiz. 2011 erste gemeinsame Tagung als 3-Länder-Tagung mit der SAfW und der ICW (Initiative Chronische Wunde e.V.) in Form des im Jahr 2011 neu gegründeten WundDACH (Deutsch-Österreichisch-Schweizerische Wundheilungsorganisation (Wund-D.A.CH.)) aus AWA, SAfW und ICW.
