A second-generation production technology developed by us is used to produce continuous basalt fiber (CBF) on an industrial scale from 5000 tons per year with predefined quality parameters. Hence, basalt fiber is able to compete strongly with such traditional materials as metal and glass fiber.
CBF is mainly used in industries with a strong influence of aggressive environment on the structure and mechanisms used.
Active research is continuing to open new areas for application of basalt fibers: from road and housing construction to the aerospace industry where it is required to flexibly and quickly manage material properties through minor and inexpensive changes in production technology.
