Bauhütte, in collaboration with CHORA Conscious City led by Prof. Raoul Bunschoten and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology led by Prof. Dr.-Ing Holger Kohl, reshapes urban wood construction in response to the climate crisis and evolving urban intelligence. We champion wood's transformative potential, leveraging its renewability, carbon-sequestering ability, and versatility.
Our mission is sustainable urban transformation, establishing a regional forest-to-city value chain to address urban growth, housing shortages, and climate change. We consolidate this chain, providing affordable, appealing housing using wood as a bio-based renewable resource.
Situated in Berlin-Brandenburg, Bauhütte 4.0 prioritizes digitalization in planning, design, and execution. Collaborating across the value chain, we seamlessly connect the forest to the city, fostering innovative wood construction solutions for sustainability and efficiency.
