Balai Besar Inseminasi Buatan (BBIB) is Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Direktorat Jenderal Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan (Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health). Under the Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 40/permentan/OT.140/6/2012, dated June 5, 2012, BBIB Singosari is an echelon 2b Technical Implementation Unit that is responsible for the Director General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health.
With more than twenty-eight years of experience, BBIB Singosari has produced frozen semen from nine breeds of cattle (Limousin, Simental, Aberdeen Angus, Brangus, Brahman, Ongole, Madura, Balinese, and Holstein Friesian) and two breeds of goats (Ettawa and Boer crossbreeds).
BBIB Singosari has the motto "A Drop of Mani a Million Hopes" which has been registered with the Department of Law and Human Rights under the number IDM000138723. With this motto, BBIB Singosari always produces quality frozen cement under SNI 01-4869.1-2008, using quality diluent materials and modern machines. As a guarantee of the quality of frozen cement produced by BBIB Singosari, the BBIB Singosari Cement Quality Test Laboratory was accredited for the second time on February 19, 2010, implementing and maintaining a quality system under ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
BBIB Singosari has a strong commitment to advancing the world of animal husbandry in Indonesia. This is realized in the form of the Program Progeny Testing/Zuriat Test, which has been implemented in collaboration with the Japanese government in the ATA-233 (The Strengthening of Singosari AI Center) project. This program has produced FH Elite Indonesia, which has high genetic quality and is able to adapt well to tropical climates.
